I consider myself a socially engaged artist and educator that encourages communities to learn together, share experiences, and exchange skills. I am invested in keeping traditions and stories alive and I focus on cultivating a sense of community among groups of all kinds. Collaboration and positivity are at the core of my philosophy.
I am a native West Virginian with a heart for Appalachia. I spend my summers adventuring, archiving stories from my home state, and working with the West Virginia Governor’s Honors Academy. I consider my five-month thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine a catalyst for cultivating authentic community and shared experience.
I currently live and work in Lamoni, Iowa as an Associate Professor of Art at Graceland University.
